Elise Island
Today my I got to go to New York with my school. I was so scared I couldn’t afford to go but just last night Mr.Martison my Social Studies teacher called and said I could go on the scholarship. Every year they select one student that can’t afford it to go as long as they have really good grades and volunteering at the jails helped a lot on my application. They also wanted someone with musical experience to go since we get to go to a few shows. We’ve been learning a lot about Elise Island and got to make our own plackers like the immigrants had which was really fun because the art project reminded me of kindergarten. Anyways my mom let me bring her new laptop to us on the plane and in the hotels to e-mail her and Skylar. I’m typing this on word document now since you can’t be on the Internet on the plane then I’ll paste it to my site. I’ll going to miss my baby but this was a great opportunity. My mom said to send her and skylark tons of pictures. I’ve already taken one of the plane and we had a group shot. Bye, I’ll post updates later.
Recording Studio
So today our band unnamed got to go to our schools recording studio.Today Mrs.Alice the music director of Denver Colorado School of the Arts just showed us how to use the tectnical stuff but tomorro we get to start recording.We’ve been waiting forever for this.Since we go to a musical school it takes for ever to rent the recording studio between the classes in there and the cds made to sell for each chorus and acting group to sell to parents at their performances and of course bands like us it seems tlike they need to make another one.It’s so expense to get one out side of school and even if we were good enough and thew others have enough money with skylar it’s to much of a risk to spend money on a hobby.I mean I love our band but I really want to be a counsular to help people.Anyways you get the point it’s rare to get the recording studio everyday day after school for three weeks.Mrs.Alice says she really sees something in us and loves our songs and wants the first Cd.We are having this big preformance at the end of the year with the whole music department and depending on how the Cd turns out we may get to be the opening act.She also says we can sell the cds at the end as long as the school gets seventy five percent of the profits.I’m so excided! Skylar and my mom will be so proud.
Denver Jail Cell
Today our band got to play at a jail.It was extremly weird and sort of scary, but we were up for the excitement.we even had to play behind a glass but they still heard from above it.Behind the glass was so loud with the drum.It was so fun like we weren’t as tense as we would be if we were playing at a club.It was more free and we felt like they couldn’t judge us as much.That was good for us since we didn’t screw up once when we usally do mess up sometime at Greene Street.It was an all men jail and they were really nice.They were so excited to have us play.I don’t think they have that many visiters.I sort of feel sorry for them.We didnt really get to talk to them so I don’t know their stories but I would really like to learn them.We all desided to go every weekend and talk to some of the people for inspiration for new songs.We also want to play at more jails.Then it gives us more practice in front of people we don’t know and prepares us for clubs.We also get paid it’s not much but I could really use the extra money.Skylars second Birthday is coming up and I really want to get him something special.Talking to the innmates also gets me practice in being a counsular.I really want to help people as much as I can nomatter who they are. We are thinking about finding more jails maybe one with girls.

- I like to travel and have lived in 3 countries. Lived in London as a baby on Abby road. Every summer I would go to Africa and do mission work with my parents. One year my dad went alone and we haven’t seen him since, so my mom and I moved to Colorado were so grew up and haven’t gone to Africa since.
- I play the drums. I’m in this band unnamed. We couldn’t think of a name so what else could we call it? lol And my best friends Angie and Courtney play too.
- I’m addicted to soy chi lattes iced. My mom’s vegan and she made me try it one day and I fell in love.
- I’m in 10th grade at Denver school of the Arts. I’m a chorus major but also play drums. I love it because everyone is so nice and just less judgmental. It’s also real close so I just walk to save gas and the environment.
- I like mountain climbing and hiking. I prefer warmer weather but I hike all the time. I like to take tons of pictures of plants and animals.
- I dye my bangs a new color every month. This hair place has a new color every month that represents a charity that the money for the dye goes to. This month my hair is purple.
- I’m a vegetarian. My mom’s vegan so I’ve never eaten meat and don’t plan on it. One time I went to this girl’s birthday party when I was like five and her mom gave me cake and ice cream without knowing I was vegan and ever since my mom would let me eat whatever.
- I love reading Edgar Allen Poe stories. My favorite short story is The Tell-Tale heart also known as The Eye. Or at least that’s what my friends called it.
- My favorite band is Hawthorne Heights. It’s a shame that their guitarist, Casey Calvert passed away a few years ago. He was a vegan too. I saw them at Projekt Revolution last summer. It was amazing.
- Audrey Kitching is amazing. I love her style because it’s a lot like mine. I even wear her shirts or the skeleanimal shirts she models. She’s also into animal rights being a pescetarian. She is my idol.
- My favorite food is peanut butter. I eat it on everything. I even like peanut butter puffin cereal. By buying it helps save puffins.
- My favorite color is purple right now but it changes constantly. I wear purple all the time! Even my bangs are purple.
- As you already know I love animals! My favorite animal is defiantly a hippo. They’re a purplish color and they make funny noises. I remember hearing them in Africa as a kid. I never saw them out of water because they came out past my bedtime.
- Being a little English my favorite female singer is Kate Nash. She sings my favorite song Mariella. I also love her accent; it reminds me of my dad.
- When I grow up I want to be a consular. I love to help people with there problems. I really want to make a difference in the world.
